But with just three league matches remaining before they face Paris Saint-Germain for European glory, Inter still trail league leaders Napoli by three points.
Despite their deep European run impacting their league campaign, manager Simone Inzaghi insists that his side has given equal attention to all competitions. “We’ve never prioritised one over the other,” he said after Tuesday’s historic victory. “It’s nonsense to say we’re choosing one competition. We’ve given everything.”

Meanwhile, the real drama in Serie A could unfold in the fierce contest for Champions League qualification. Juventus, Roma, and Lazio are all tied on 63 points in a race for fourth place. Juventus travel to face Lazio on Saturday, while Roma—riding a 19-match unbeaten streak in Serie A—take on third-placed Atalanta in Bergamo on Monday.
Bologna sit just a point behind that trio in seventh and visit AC Milan on Friday, a key warm-up ahead of their Italian Cup final showdown with the same opponent. Under coach Vincenzo Italiano, Bologna are not only pushing for back-to-back Champions League appearances but also seeking to end a 51-year wait for silverware.
