Primeiro D’Agosto reaffirmed their status as Africa’s most successful club after they beat defending champions, AS Salé of Morocco 83-71 to win the 2019 FIBA Africa Basketball League.

Eduardo Mingas inspired the Angolans with a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds, Manny Quezada added 17 and Angola international duo of Hermenegildo Dos Santos and Islando Manuel combined for 22 points for the Angolans.

Mingas was named the Most Valuable Player, and was also voted best rebounder with 23 in the Final Four.

While no club retained their African crown since D’Agosto did it in 2012, the new African champions maintained Angolan clubs’ tradition of always winning continental tournaments they have hosted.
