Shade Okoya, wife of billionaire industrialist Razak Okoya, has said she has no regrets about marrying her husband at the age of 21, insisting she has not missed out on anything in life.
She made this known in a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, where she spoke about her marriage and life choices.
The 48-year-old socialite, who wed Razak Okoya in 1999, shared that marrying an older man did not deprive her of any life experiences. Her husband, now 85, was already a notable figure in Nigeria’s business scene at the time of their union.
“My husband has always been generous and defends me everywhere,” she said. “I believe this is where God destined me to be. When we met, he liked me and acted quickly by meeting my parents and doing the proper things.”
Shade emphasised that she is happy in her marriage and that the age difference has never been an issue. “I’ve never felt I missed out by not marrying a younger man. I’m fulfilled and content with the path I chose,” she added.
She described her marriage as rewarding and fulfilling, expressing gratitude for the life they’ve built together.
