A 75-year-old man identified as Haruna Abdullahi from Gumel, Jigawa State, was found dead in the early hours of Friday at the gate of the Kure Ultra Modern Market in Minna, Niger State.
News Central learnt that the exact cause of his death remains unknown, but traders at the market saw his lifeless body at the entrance of the market.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said,
“Today 18/4/2025 at early hours of the day, a corpse which was later identified as one Haruna Abdullahi, about 75yrs was found at Kure market’s gate.”
He added, “He was said to be a beggar, Hausa by tribe, from Gumel, Jigawa State. There was no mark of violence on the body and he was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.”
The police have not suggested any foul play, and the body was removed from the scene after being officially pronounced dead by medical personnel.
