Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially welcomed the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, along with other political leaders and stakeholders, into its fold.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 13, in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described Governor Mbah’s decision to join the APC as a “courageous and strategic” move that would strengthen governance and accelerate development in Enugu State.
“We congratulate Governor Mbah for his courageous decision to join Nigeria’s preeminent and progressive party,” the statement read. “We are confident that this definite political move will consolidate and accelerate development and good governance in Enugu State.”
The APC commended Mbah’s leadership record, citing his recognition at the 2025 Presidential GovTech Awards for innovation and technology-driven public service delivery.
According to the party, the governor’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda marks a “smart repositioning” of Enugu State as a strategic partner in the ongoing national economic transformation.
“The governor’s decision to join the APC and align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will inure to the good and prosperity of the people of the state and the entire South-Eastern Nigeria,” Morka said.
The APC also assured Governor Mbah and other new members of its full support and seamless integration into the party.
“Our great party assures His Excellency and teeming new members of its fullest support, accommodation, and seamless integration into the APC family,” the statement added.
