An Abuja Magistrate’s Court on Friday granted bail for publisher and activist Omoyele Sowore; Aloy Ejimakor, a member of the legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu; Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the brother of the IPOB leader; and 10 other individuals, setting the bail amount at ₦500,000 and requiring two sureties of the same value.

All 13 defendants were brought before the court for allegedly inciting public unrest and disturbing the peace during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest on Monday, October 20, in Abuja.
Ejimakor, Emmanuel, and the other 10 individuals were taken into custody during the protest and subsequently held at the Kuje Correctional Facility, while Sowore was detained on October 23 at the High Court in Abuja after attending Kanu’s terrorism trial to express his support.
