The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced it will not join the international stabilisation force slated for deployment in Gaza, citing an unclear organisational structure for the mission.
Senior Emirati presidential advisor Anwar Gargash confirmed the position on Monday, stating at the Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate forum that the country “does not yet see a clear framework” and therefore would likely not participate under current circumstances.
The US-coordinated international force was previously expected to include contributions from several regional players, notably Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the UAE.

The announcement of non-participation follows recent comments from US President Donald Trump, who suggested last week that he anticipated the force would be in Gaza “very soon” as the delicate ceasefire holds.
The UAE’s decision is notable given its diplomatic status; the oil-rich nation is one of the few Arab states to have formalised ties with Israel, having signed the Abraham Accords in 2020 during the Trump administration.
