The Department of State Services (DSS) has successfully rearrested Abdulazeez Obadaki, who is identified as the mastermind of the deadly 2022 bank attacks in Uromi, Edo State.
Obadaki had previously escaped custody during the major Kuje jailbreak in Abuja.
He is also implicated in the fatal shooting incident that occurred at Deeper Life College in Okene, Kogi State.
The recapture comes shortly after the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, announced the arrest of two high-ranking leaders of the Ansaru terrorist group—Abu Baraa and Mahmuda—three months prior.
The NSA stated that these Ansaru leaders were responsible for spearheading several large-scale attacks, including the 2022 Kuje jailbreak that Obadaki had utilised for his escape.
