South Africa’s Foreign Minister, Ronald Lamola, expressed strong suspicion regarding the recent arrival of two groups of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, suggesting it indicates a “clear agenda to cleanse Palestinians” from their territories.
The concern was raised after a chartered flight carrying 153 Palestinians landed in Johannesburg last week without proper exit stamps from Israel. This followed an earlier, similar flight on October 28 carrying 176 Palestinians.
Lamola stated that South Africa views the circumstances as “suspicious,” noting that the group was initially detained on the plane for 12 hours before President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised their entry on a standard 90-day visa exemption.

The minister firmly opposed any further such arrivals, saying, “We do not want any further flights to come our way because this is a clear agenda to cleanse Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank… which South Africa is against.”
Reports suggest an organisation named Al-Majd was involved in orchestrating the departure of both groups.
Lamola believes the coordinated arrivals represent a “broader agenda to remove Palestinians from Palestine into many different parts of the world.”
