The Obidient Movement has expressed concern over a suspected malfunction of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Results Viewing Portal (IREV), alleging that results from several polling units were not appearing on the platform despite being uploaded.
In a statement issued on Saturday by its National Coordinator, Dr Yunusa Tanko, the movement urged supporters and the general public to stay alert throughout the collation process.
He indicated that reports available to the group suggested the IREV server was operational but not displaying results that had reportedly been uploaded from various polling units.
Tanko called on citizens to remain vigilant and, if necessary, peacefully observe the collation process at designated centres, including the Area 10 INEC office and Karu.
He also encouraged voters to keep accurate records of results from their polling units to enable proper verification, stressing the need for calm and lawful conduct while safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
“Information reaching us indicates that the IREV server is active but not displaying results that were reportedly uploaded successfully from various polling units,” the statement read.
“All Obidients and Nigerians are therefore encouraged to remain alert and vigilant. If necessary, we urge everyone to proceed peacefully to the Area 10 INEC office and Karu for the collation process and observe developments closely.
“Ensure that you have the accurate results from your respective polling units for proper verification. Let us remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process through peaceful and lawful means.”
The concern comes as voting and collation continue in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, where residents across the six councils, Abuja Municipal Area Council, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Abaji, and Kwali, are electing chairmen and councillors. The polls are widely seen as a key indicator of grassroots political strength in the capital.
IREV, introduced by INEC, is intended to improve transparency by allowing real-time public access to polling unit results uploaded directly from the field.
