Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has banned the importation of poultry eggs from Nigeria and 39 other countries. The agency also imposed partial restrictions in 16 other countries.

The Middle Eastern country’s agency cited public health concerns about food safety as justification for the ban and partial restrictions imposed on the importation of poultry eggs from Nigeria and other countries.

The agency, however, explained that the temporary ban does not apply to heat-treated poultry meat and related products, provided they comply with approved health and safety standards.
