United States President Donald Trump has claimed that the talks between the United States and Iran, which were initiated to end the war between the US, Israel and Iran, went well, and most of the points raised were agreed to.
Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance had said that negotiations between the conflicting countries in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, failed to secure key commitments from Iran.
But Trump, in a post on Truth Social, said otherwise and threatened to blockade ships going in or out of the Strait of Hormuz. This blockade, according to Trump, will involve other countries to prevent Iran from benefiting from what he described as illegal extortion.
“So, there you have it, the meeting went well, most points were agreed to, but the only point that really mattered, nuclear, was not. Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the finest in the world, will begin the process of blockading any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said.

“At some point, we will reach an all being allowed to go in, all being allowed to go out basis, but Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, ‘There may be a mine out there somewhere,’ that nobody knows about but them. This is world extortion and leaders of countries, especially the United States of America, will never be extorted.”
The US President also said naval forces have been directed to monitor and intercept vessels in international waters suspected of paying tolls to Iran, warning that such ships would not be granted safe passage.
He added that efforts would begin to remove mines allegedly laid in key maritime routes, and cautioned that any attacks on naval forces or commercial shipping would be met with a strong military response.
The US/Israel and Iran war, which began on February 28, has been ongoing for over a month. Trump said Iran has suffered significant military losses and blamed the situation on its nuclear ambitions.
