Bayern Munich are on the verge of securing their 35th Bundesliga title following Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat at Hoffenheim on Saturday.
The result leaves the defending champions 12 points ahead of second-placed Dortmund with a game in hand; Bayern now require only a single point from their Sunday fixture against Stuttgart to mathematically clinch the league.
Hoffenheim’s victory was powered by club record goalscorer Andrej Kramaric, who converted two clinical penalties to move his side into fifth place and keep their Champions League ambitions alive.
The day also marked a historic moment in European football as Marie-Louise Eta made her debut as the first female manager of a men’s top-flight team in the major leagues.
Serving as interim coach for Union Berlin, Eta received an enthusiastic welcome from the home crowd, though her debut ended in a 2-1 loss to relegation-threatened Wolfsburg.

Despite the defeat, Union remains six points clear of the relegation play-off spot with only four matches remaining in the season.
Elsewhere in the league, Bayer Leverkusen’s hopes for a top-four finish suffered a major setback following a 2-1 home loss to Augsburg, decided by a penalty in the final moments of stoppage time.
In the bottom half of the table, Werder Bremen secured a vital 3-1 win over regional rivals Hamburg in a heated encounter that saw the visitors finish with only nine players.
The win allows Bremen to pull five points clear of the bottom three, adding breathing room in the intense battle for top-flight survival.
