Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja on Tuesday after participating in the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide primaries, observing the Eid al-Kabir celebrations, and attending a series of political and official engagements in Lagos.
The Airbus A330 carrying Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed.
Onanuga wrote, “Tinubu was received by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu; Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu; and other senior government officials.”

He said that the holiday period was marked by a full schedule of political consultations, national events and diplomatic engagements.

During the traditional Sallah homage, Tinubu received Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by its Chairman, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Also, APC stakeholders from Oyo State, including the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, paid a homage visit, as did APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State.
The Nigerian President received the newly inaugurated President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, in a bilateral meeting described as reinforcing the longstanding ties of friendship, regional cooperation and economic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
