Super Typhoon Bavi knocked out power for tens of thousands of residents across Guam and the Northern Marianas after tearing through the U.S. Pacific territories on Monday.
The storm battered the small island of Rota with ferocious winds reaching 190 miles per hour, destroying roofs, downing power poles, and severing water pipelines.
Despite the extensive destruction to homes and critical infrastructure, local authorities confirmed on Tuesday morning that the storm caused no casualties or injuries.
The catastrophic weather completely severed electricity, running water, and mobile network services across Rota.

Emergency responders and road crews continue to clear debris to open access routes for rescue vehicles and address potential distress calls.
While the main islands of Saipan and Tinian also lost power, officials noted that the damage was less severe than the destruction caused by Super Typhoon Sinkalu earlier this year.
