Kogi Remains the Safest State in Nigeria – Governor Yahaya Bello

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has described the state as the most peaceful and safest state in the country.

he made this known in a state-wide broadcast to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the state.

Bello said his administration from inception took the progress in security, unity, peace, and prosperity of the people seriously.

He said: “Today, our state is arguably the safest in the entire country, we are rated the second most peaceful and our crime rate is second lowest. We have a hugely diverse population that is nevertheless more united now than at any time in our history.”

This is, however, in conflict with the opinion of Nigerian Former Lawmaker in the 8th Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye who believes the Governor hasn’t done enough.

Dino said in an exclusive with News Central TV that Governor Yahaya Bello is the worst governor in Nigeria.

“He is the only governor in Nigeria that is yet to commission one project! A man who failed can’t be President!”

The political tussle between the two has been described by political analysts as the reason Dino Melaye lost the Kogi West Senatorial District seat to Smart Adeyemi of the APC.
