Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid completed the signing of South Korea international Kang-In Lee from European champions Paris Saint-Germain on a contract through June 30, 2031.
While neither club officially disclosed the transfer fee, sources close to the negotiations value the deal at approximately €40 million ($45.5 million) plus add-ons.
Atletico lauded the 25-year-old left-footed playmaker for his tactical versatility, vision, and technical ball control across the attacking midfield and wing positions.
Lee departs PSG after making 124 appearances, scoring 16 goals, and lifting 12 trophies since his arrival from Valencia in 2023.
Despite those achievements, injuries and tactical rotation under manager Luis Enrique limited his playing time in Paris, leaving him as an unused substitute during the club’s recent back-to-back Champions League final victories.
His arrival marks Atletico’s third major summer reinforcement alongside Morten Hjulmand and Alejandro Grimaldo as the club rebuilds following Antoine Griezmann’s departure to MLS side Orlando City.
Meanwhile, Manchester City secured the long-term future of defender Abdukodir Khusanov after the 22-year-old Uzbek centre-back signed a five-year contract extension.
Khusanov, who joined City from French club Lens in January 2025 and featured for Uzbekistan at the World Cup, expressed his determination to solidify his place in the starting squad under new manager Enzo Maresca.
City director of football Hugo Viana praised Khusanov’s physical and technical growth, noting that the defender possesses all the key assets required to develop into a world-class talent.
