At least 10 people were killed on Sunday night in coordinated attacks on the Jol community and Dorowa Babuje (Rob District) in the Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State, local leaders confirmed.
Barrister Solomon Dalyop, National President of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYMA), said nine people were killed in Dorowa Babuje and one in Jol during attacks between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
He stated that assailants who attacked Jol arrived on motorcycles from the Manga axis, while attackers in Dorowa Babuje reportedly came from the Jong-Wereh area.
According to Dalyop, members of Plateau State’s security team, Operation Rainbow, were already on the ground and repelled the attackers, limiting casualties.

“If not for the quick intervention of the military in Dorowa, the casualty figure would have been much higher,” Dalyop stated.
“We must commend them for their swift response.”
Riyom has experienced repeated attacks in recent months, including raids on farming communities, according to local sources. Residents and community leaders have called for increased security presence.
