Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will book their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite a shaky start to their qualifying campaign, Nigeria recovered well to finish second in Group C, just behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, securing a spot in the playoffs.
The Super Eagles will take on the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final clash of the playoffs on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat, Morocco.

Iwobi, speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, said the team remains fully focused on their mission to reach the global showpiece.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told CNN.
“We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world,” he added.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen). It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
