A 47-year-old man identified as Ganiyu Yusuf has been arrested by operatives of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, for allegedly raping a housewife in Ilorin in June 2021.
Yusuf allegedly broke into a house through the roof in Oloje area, Ilorin, on June 1, 2021, overwhelmed and raped the victim, and went into hiding, somewhere outside the state.
The suspect was also alleged to have stolen two laptops and two phones from the house.
The suspect was eventually tracked down on January 5, 2023, at Mokwa, Niger State. The operatives of command is currently searching for the buyers of the stolen items.
