Ayra Starr Features on ‘Creed 3’ Soundtrack

Nigerian artiste Ayra Starr has just been featured on the official track-list to Hollywood’s Creed Sequel. The third film in the Creed franchise has its music produced by Dreamville records, owned by American heavyweight rapper, J.Cole. 

Born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, the 20 year old Nigerian superstar collaborates with American rapper Bas, on the movie’s track 6 titled ‘Ogogoro’. The word is believed to originate from West Africa, referring to an alcoholic drink extracted locally from palm trees. Ayra Starr joins Ghana’s Black Sheriff as the only African musicians on the Hollywood-produced film.

This international collaboration is the latest accolade for the ‘Rush’ singer and her first collaboration on a Hollywood film. Recall the Mavin records signee has worked with a handful of big names, from Ex Destiny Child member, Kelly Rowland, to Global Sensation Wizkid, Skip Marley and even Congolese singer, Awilo Logomba.

Creed debuts in theatres worldwide on Friday, the 3rd March, 2023 and marks as Lead Actor, Micheal B Jordan’s Directorial Debut. Jordan who was just recently inducted to the Hollywood Walk of Fame becomes the 2,751st person to get a star on the Walk of Fame and one of only 165 Black artists to be awarded one.
