Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has completed his move to Middlesbrough from Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA.

The former Chelsea midfielder has agreed personal terms with the English Championship club and will now look to help the team’s push to return to the Premier next season.

Boro currently sits fifth in the Championship table and are seven points off leaders Leeds United.

Serie A giants Roma and Bundesliga side Wolfsburg had made their interest known in the former Chelsea midfielder but Mikel opted a return to England, to be with his wife and children.
