A unit of Glencore Plc, Katanga Mining has resumed work on the cobalt deposits in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

In November, the firm had announced a pause in operations after it discovered that the uranium level in the cobalt were too high- leading to the suspension of export and sales pending a solution.

The company announced that it resumed exporting and selling a limited quantity of cobalt from its Kamoto Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) stating that it had produced about 930 tonnes of contained cobalt since January through interim operational solutions.
