Aero Contractors Slashes Airfares to N80,000 for All Routes

Aero Contractors has slashed the price of a one-way ticket in the domestic market to N80,000, a significant drop from around N150,000.

This comes as Captain Ado Sanusi, Managing Director of Aero Contractors, warned that the prevailing 35% interest rate threatens to cripple the aviation industry.

Speaking to aviation correspondents at the airline’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, Sanusi revealed that this reduced airfare promotion, already in effect, will run until February 2025.

He explained that the price cut aims to help families reconnect during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Currently, domestic one-way tickets range between N150,000 and N200,000, varying by route, airline, and booking time.

The steep fares have drastically reduced passenger traffic, pushing many former customers to switch to alternative transportation methods, primarily road travel.

“We are introducing affordable Christmas pricing because, as a company with a rich history of understanding our customers, it’s essential to give back,” Sanusi said. “This promo offers tickets starting at N80,000 for all our destinations, enabling families to meet their loved ones.”

Aero Contractors presently operates nine domestic routes: Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Benin, Port Harcourt, Asaba, Yola, Sokoto, and Calabar.

The airline’s current fleet consists of three aircraft, including two Cally Air Boeing 737s.

“Right now, we have three aircraft, two operational and one undergoing repairs. We’re not expanding our routes but focusing on those we already serve,” Sanusi stated.

He clarified that no additional aircraft would be leased for December operations but affirmed the airline’s plans to grow its fleet to 10 aircraft in the coming years.
