President Tinubu Swears in Permanent Secretaries, RMAFC Commissioners

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, oversaw the swearing-in of newly appointed members to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the National Population Commission (NPC) at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.

Additionally, eight former directors in the Federal Civil Service were sworn in as Permanent Secretaries.

A total of 21 new RMAFC members, along with one new member each for the FCC and NPC, took their oaths of office just before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting began.

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted in two groups of four, with the Director of Media in the Office of the President, Abiodun Oladunjoye, introducing the appointees. 

The newly appointed permanent secretaries are: 

– Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia State) 

– Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa State) 

– Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi State) 

– Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu State) 

– Kalba Usman (Gombe State) 

– Usman Aminu (Kebbi State) 

– Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers State) 

– Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State) 

Additionally, 21 new federal commissioners for the RMAFC, one federal commissioner for the Federal Character Commission, and one member of the National Population Commission were also sworn in. 

The RMAFC commissioners, whose appointments were confirmed by the Senate in August 2024, include: 

– Linda Oti (Abia State) 

– Akpan Effiong (Akwa Ibom State) 

– Enefe Ekene (Anambra State) 

– Prof Steve Ugba (Benue State) 

– Chief Eyonsa (Cross River State) 

– Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta State) 

– Nduka Awuregu (Ebonyi State) 

– Victor Eboigbe (Edo State) 

– Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti State) 

– Ozo Obodougo (Enugu State) 

– Kabir Mashi (Katsina State), among others. 

The FEC meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of Service, Didi Walson-Jack, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other ministers and government officials.
