A Spanish court has found former football chief Luis Rubiales guilty of sexual assault after he forcibly kissed player Jenni Hermoso.
He has been fined €10,800 for the incident.
The court, however, acquitted Rubiales and three others involved in the case of coercion.
Prosecutors had previously sought a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for Rubiales.
Hermoso maintained that she did not consent to the kiss, which occurred following Spain’s victory at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia.
The global backlash over the incident led to Rubiales resigning as president of the Spanish Football Federation.
