The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has approved an upward review of fees for the Nigerian passport, effective September 1, 2025.
The spokesman for the NIS, A.S. Akinlabi, disclosed this on Thursday, noting that the increment aims to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
“The review, which only affects passport applications made in Nigeria, sets new fee thresholds at ₦100,000 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and ₦200,000 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity.
“Meanwhile, passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity,” he said.
The NIS reiterated its commitment to balancing quality service delivery with accessibility for all Nigerians.
Earlier, the 32-page passport with 5-year validity was ₦50,000, while a 64-page passport with 10-year validity cost ₦100,000. These will now double to ₦100,000 and ₦200,000, respectively, starting September 1, 2025.
