Milan Agree €42m Deal for Chelsea Forward Nkunku

AC Milan are poised to sign Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku for €42m. The 27-year-old French professional footballer is expected to agree to a pay cut in order to join the Italian side on a five-year deal and has been given permission to travel for a medical.

As part of the deal, the Blues included a sell-on clause, which will end Nkunku’s two-year stay at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are also advancing negotiations to sign winger Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson is said to be in talks over an initial loan move to Bayern Munich, which could include an obligation to buy.

With this development, Chelsea are expected to make some profit in the transfer market, raising a league-high of an estimated €358m to balance about €321m in player purchases.

Player sales are especially important to Chelsea this summer because of UEFA sanctions, which included a fine of €31m along with a requirement to maintain a “positive transfer balance” this window in order to register new signings for the Champions League.

Nkunku scored 18 goals and provided five assists in 62 matches for Chelsea, after joining from RB Leipzig for about €60m in 2023.
