Gazans Deserve More Than Mere Survival — UN Envoy

The United Nations’ Middle East envoy, Sigrid Kaag, told the Security Council on Wednesday that Palestinians in Gaza “deserve more than survival,” as Israel’s war in the territory reached its 600th day.

Kaag stated, “Since hostilities resumed in Gaza, the already dire conditions for civilians have worsened dramatically. This crisis is manmade. Death surrounds them—what they endure is neither life nor hope. The people of Gaza deserve more than survival; they deserve a future.”
