UK, France, Germany to Discuss Gaza Crisis

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that he will hold an emergency call on Friday with the leaders of France and Germany to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The talks, involving the E3 partners, will focus on urgent measures to halt the violence, deliver essential aid, and pave the way toward lasting peace in the region.

In a statement issued on Thursday, July 24, Starmer stressed the importance of immediate action to prevent further bloodshed and to ensure that Palestinians receive vital supplies such as food.

He also reaffirmed the UK’s support for a ceasefire as a stepping stone toward the recognition of Palestinian statehood and a two-state solution that secures peace and safety for both Palestinians and Israelis.

Gaza: 21 Children dead from starvation

Describing the current situation in Gaza as “unspeakable and indefensible,” Starmer said conditions had worsened significantly in the 21 months since the Hamas-led attack of October 7, 2023.

“The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is unspeakable and indefensible,” he stated, warning of an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.

The call comes during increasing global pressure on Israel to dramatically expand humanitarian access to Gaza, where over two million Palestinians face deteriorating living conditions and the risk of famine.

Although indirect ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas have been held in Qatar, they have so far failed to yield a breakthrough.
