Venezuelan Air Force Plane Crash Kills Seven

A small military aircraft carrying members of an Indigenous community back to their Amazonian homeland crashed in the jungle on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals onboard, according to Venezuela’s defence ministry.

Three military personnel, including the pilot, survived the incident attributed to a technical malfunction in the Amazonas region of southern Venezuela.

Officials reported that there were at least 10 people onboard, which included several members of the Yanomami Indigenous community, medical staff, and the crew.

The co-pilot was among those who lost their lives in the crash.

The aircraft is part of an air force unit that assists Indigenous communities in the remote areas of the Amazon.
