Chairperson Bonginkosi Nhlapho has announced that Midrand residents will hold a peaceful protest on Sunday at the Johannesburg Water depot in Noordwyk to highlight the ongoing water crisis.

According to Eye Witness News, Nhlapho expressed the community’s growing distrust regarding the cause of the outages.

“We had two meetings with J-Water and councillors, and nothing came out of those meetings, and we have no knowledge of when the water will come back permanently.

Residents in parts of Midrand continue to experience intermittent water supply, despite Johannesburg Water confirming that services were restored following recent maintenance.

Several areas remain affected, leaving many households without a reliable water source.

The Noordwyk Residents’ Association stated that the prolonged disruptions have left residents frustrated, with no clear timeline provided for a permanent solution.

The demonstration aims to demand accountability and a definitive resolution to the infrastructure challenges facing the suburb.
