US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, a Nigerian national convicted of armed robbery and involvement in illegal drug trafficking.

In a statement issued on Monday, ICE said Ijaoba previously belonged to the Bloods, a street gang widely known for violent crime.

ICE described Ijaoba as a criminal illegal immigrant from Nigeria with a lengthy criminal record. His convictions include aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction of justice, drug sales and escaping police custody. Authorities confirmed that he has a final removal order and currently remains in ICE custody awaiting deportation.

In a related development, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently arrested another Nigerian, Oluwadamilola Ogooluwa Bamigboye, for allegedly evading arrest and abducting an immigration officer. Prosecutors have charged Bamigboye and his alleged accomplice, Rekeya Frazier, with assaulting a federal agent, while Bamigboye also faces charges for overstaying his student visa.
