President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, and Rivers States, while praising the leadership of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
According to a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged the elected officials to serve with humility, patriotism, and dedication, describing their mandate as “a sacred trust.”
He also commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his leadership in the territory, noting that Wike’s achievements had contributed to political gains for the APC.
Tinubu additionally congratulated the APC’s national leadership, as well as the party leaderships in Kano and Rivers States, and all party members involved in the elections.
He expressed appreciation for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for ensuring peaceful polls.

He lauded the courage and discipline of all contestants, stating that their participation enriches democracy.
He further reaffirmed that the elections strengthened democratic culture and institutions and called on INEC to continue improving its electoral processes.
“President Tinubu lauds the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections.
“President Tinubu affirms that the successful conduct of the elections further strengthens democratic culture and institutions and calls on INEC to continue improving its efforts to deliver even more exemplary electoral processes,” the statement read.
INEC conducted polls across the six FCT area councils, Abuja Municipal (AMAC), Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, and Abaji, as well as by-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II in Rivers State, and Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano State.
INEC results show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the chairmanship contests in Abaji, Kwali, AMAC, and Bwari, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured victory in Gwagwalada.
In the state by-elections, the APC also won both Rivers State seats.
