The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Danjuma Shekwolo, has been declared the winner of the Kuje Area Council chairmanship election, securing 17,269 votes, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced.
Declaring the results, Returning Officer Nkiruka Odoh of the University of Abuja said Shekwolo polled the highest votes and satisfied the requirements of the law and was therefore duly elected chairman.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Zakwoyi Danlami, followed closely with 15,824 votes, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Abdullahi Galadima, scored 4,305 votes.

INEC conducted elections across all six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) last Saturday for both chairmanship and councillorship positions.
Also, by-elections were conducted in Kano State’s Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies, as well as in Rivers State’s Ahoada East II and Khana II state constituencies.
The commission also announced that Mohammed Kasim of the PDP had won the election for the Gwagwalada Area Council, while the APC had won the Abuja Municipal Area, Kwali, and Bwari Area Councils.
