United States President Donald Trump has announced the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a forceful statement posted on his Truth Social platform.
The post, written in Trump’s characteristic emphatic style, described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in history” and declared his death as “justice for the people of Iran” as well as for Americans and others worldwide whom he accused Khamenei and his associates of harming.
Trump said that Khamenei “was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems,” adding that the United States had worked “closely with Israel” in carrying out operations that resulted in the deaths of Khamenei and other unnamed Iranian leaders.
According to the post, the coordinated effort left “not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.”
Framing the development as a strategic opportunity, Trump described the moment as “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.”
He claimed to be receiving reports that elements within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with military, security, and police forces, no longer wished to continue fighting and were “looking for Immunity from us.”
Trump further expressed hope that the IRGC and police would “peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots” to restore what he termed the country’s “Greatness.” However, he also stated that “heavy and pinpoint bombing” would continue “uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary” to achieve what he described as “PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD.”
The statement signals a potentially dramatic escalation in tensions in the region, pending independent confirmation and international response.
