Members of the South West faction of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) led a march in Maryland axis of Lagos on Monday over the death of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayahtollah Khameini, who was killed by US and Israel strikes in Iran.
The IMN members condemned Khameini’s killing and criticised the United States for orchestrating the attacks on Iran.
While speaking to journalists, the South West coordinator of IMN, Muftau Zakariya, said the group led the protest to express their concerns about the invasions of sovereign nations by the President Donald Trump’s administration.

“I said to you that nothing good is coming from the US intervention. It is only interested in their economic gains and not minding the consequences thereafter,” said Zakariya.
Khameini’s death has spurred a series of protests in Iran, India and parts of Nigeria.
Monday’s protest comes a day after thousands of IMN members staged protests in several northern cities on Sunday, condemning the killing of Khamenei. Members of the group chanted “death to America and Israel” and carried Palestinian flags and “Allahu Akbar” (“God is Great”).
