The Jordanian military says the kingdom has been targeted by 240 missiles and drones since the start of the Middle East conflict, most of which were intercepted.

In a statement, the army said the majority of the incoming projectiles were destroyed by air defences before reaching their targets. The military added that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 222 of the incoming threats, while 18 were not intercepted.

“The Royal Air Force successfully intercepted and destroyed 222 missiles and drones, while 18 missiles and drones were not intercepted by the air defences.”

The army’s media office further said that 36 missiles and drones were launched toward Jordan over the past week alone.

Jordan has not recorded any fatalities since the escalation of the conflict, though earlier reports indicated that 29 people were injured, all of whom have since been discharged from the hospital.

The developments come after strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28, which triggered wider regional exchanges involving multiple countries.

Jordanian authorities say their defence systems remain on high alert as the conflict continues to affect airspace security across the region.
