The Israeli military reported a new Iranian missile barrage toward northern Israel early Tuesday.
This attack occurred just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced “very productive” talks with an unnamed Iranian official.
The strike triggered sirens across several northern communities, though the Home Front Command cleared residents to leave bomb shelters approximately 20 minutes after the initial launch.
The sudden escalation follows a day of conflicting diplomatic signals.
President Trump claimed a breakthrough in negotiations aimed at ending the weeks-long conflict, leading him to postpone a planned “obliteration” of Iran’s power plants for five days.

However, Tehran has officially denied that any such meetings took place, accusing the U.S. president of attempting to manipulate global energy markets.
Despite the purported diplomatic opening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasised that Israel would continue to strike targets in Iran and Lebanon to safeguard its vital interests.
Netanyahu confirmed he spoke with Trump on Monday, noting that the U.S. president believes recent military gains by American and Israeli forces can be leveraged into a formal agreement.
According to the Prime Minister, the goal remains an accord that realises the war’s objectives while permanently neutralising threats to Israel’s security.
As the conflict enters its fourth week, the situation remains highly volatile, with both sides maintaining aggressive military postures despite the high-level diplomatic chatter.
