Ghana have dismissed head coach Otto Addo just over 10 weeks before the World Cup, following a series of poor results, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced.
The decision came hours after the Black Stars’ 2-1 defeat to Germany in a friendly match on Monday in Stuttgart, where the hosts secured victory with a late goal.
The loss marked Ghana’s fourth consecutive defeat, coming shortly after a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria last week.

In a statement, the GFA thanked Addo for his service to the team and wished him success in his future endeavours, adding that details of the team’s new technical direction would be announced soon.
“The association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
“It will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course”.
Addo, 50, had been in charge since March 2024.
Ghana are set to compete in the World Cup in North America this summer, where they have been drawn in a group alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
