Ipswich Town secured their place in next season’s Premier League with a commanding 3-0 win over QPR on Saturday, ensuring an immediate return to the top flight.
The Tractor Boys held off the challenge from Millwall, with the result confirming their second-place finish in the Championship.
The match at Portman Road saw Ipswich take control early, with two goals in the first 10 minutes. George Hirst opened the scoring, followed by Jaden Philogene, putting the home side in the driving seat and sending the fans into celebration.

The victory was sealed five minutes from time when Kasey McAteer added a third, ensuring Ipswich’s place in the Premier League alongside Coventry.
Ipswich’s return to the Premier League this time around marks a significant achievement after their last top-flight stint ended in disappointment. They struggled in the 2022-2023 season, winning only four out of their 38 league games, but the experience of those tough times is now expected to help them rise to the challenge ahead.
A key figure in Ipswich’s success has been Kieran McKenna, who previously served as an assistant at Manchester United and has now led the team to three promotions in four seasons.
