Carlo Ancelotti will remain the coach of Brazil’s national football team until the 2030 World Cup, following a contract renewal announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Thursday.
The 66-year-old Italian, who took charge of Brazil’s national team last year, has received a strong vote of confidence ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The renewal will see Ancelotti continue leading the five-time world champions through to the next World Cup in 2030.
Ancelotti’s appointment comes after a year in which Brazil qualified for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“From the very first minute, I understood what football means to this country. For the past year, we have been working to lead the Brazilian National Team back to the very top of the world stage,” Ancelotti said in his statement, expressing his commitment to the team’s success.

The renowned coach, who has managed top clubs such as Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Chelsea, added that he wanted “more victories, more time, more work,” signalling his ambition to continue Brazil’s success.
CBF president Samir Xaud supported Ancelotti’s extension, emphasising that the move is part of efforts to “keep Brazil at the highest level of world football.”
Ancelotti is set to announce his final squad for the World Cup on May 18, with Brazil facing a warm-up match against Panama on May 31 at the Maracana Stadium.
Brazil will be based in New Jersey during the World Cup and are set to face Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti in Group C.
