The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Ahmed Tijani Galadima the winner of its governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
The result was announced on Friday by the Chairman of the Primary Elections Committee, Professor Innocent Warifo, who served as returning officer for the exercise. Warifo said Abdurahman Bashir Hussein came second with 86,004 votes, while another report also placed him at 65,934 votes.
He declared that Galadima polled a total of 414,444 votes, making him the highest scorer in the contest.
“I, Professor Innocent Warifo, Chairman of the Global Primary Elections Committee, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the Adamawa governorship primary election held on the 21st day of May, 2026,” he said.

He added: “The votes were as announced, and consequently, Ahmed Tijani Galadima, having satisfied the requirements of the APC guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected as the party’s governorship candidate.”
The announcement officially confirms Galadima as the APC flagbearer for the upcoming governorship election in Adamawa State. Party officials say the result followed a competitive primary process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
