NC DEBRIEF // Congo Is Bleeding: Are You Complicit

In Congo, the people decry child labour and other forms of human rights violations that have occurred in the country. Although DRC is blessed with some of the most valuable mineral resources on earth, the World Bank has referred to it as one of the poorest countries in the world. It has been ridden with conflicts that have resulted in various unthinkable human rights violations, much of which is linked to conflict resources. Over the past few weeks, #CongoIsBleeding has been trending on social media as a way to draw attention to the issues in the country. Tomorrow on #NCDebrief, News Central TV’s @gbenga.aborowa will have a conversation about why people within and outside Congo should be interested in the issues there and how we can influence change there. He will be joined by activist, singer-songwriter @youngparis Paris and @coimafidon who is an international advisor to leaders and governments.
