Ghana to Replace Flood-Damaged Passports

Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an expedited replacement scheme for passports lost or damaged in this week’s devastating floods across the country.

In a press release issued in Accra on Friday, the Ministry extended condolences to families who lost loved ones in the disaster and expressed solidarity with all affected persons, acknowledging the “catastrophic consequences” of the floods, including loss of lives and destruction of property.

To ease the burden on victims, the Ministry said Ghanaians whose passports were lost or damaged in the flooding can now request urgent replacement.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands in solidarity with all affected persons during this difficult period and remains committed to playing its role in supporting government’s recovery efforts,” the statement read.
