Rare pieces of football history and entertainment memorabilia connected to the 2026 FIFA World Cup are going under the hammer as New York auction house Christie’s has announced a week-long online sale to raise funds for children’s education worldwide.

The auction, which begins on July 22, will feature items from the tournament, including a match ball used in the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, outfits worn by performers at the first-ever World Cup final halftime show, and signed football jerseys from some of the sport’s biggest names.

Proceeds from the sale will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative established to help raise $100 million for education programmes benefiting children worldwide during the tournament.

Among the most notable items are a yellow crop top and trousers worn by Colombian singer Shakira in the music video for “Dai Dai,” the official song of the 2026 World Cup. Another highlight is the outfit she will wear during her halftime performance at the final, an 11-minute musical production featuring global stars including Madonna, Justin Bieber and BTS.

Football fans will also have the opportunity to bid on several match balls linked to the tournament, including one from the final on July 19 and another from the opening match played in Mexico.

The collection also includes a 2022 Argentina national team jersey signed by Lionel Messi, as well as a United States men’s national team jersey bearing the signatures of players from the squad.

Christie’s said the auction brings together football, music and culture while creating an opportunity for supporters to own unique pieces connected to one of the world’s biggest sporting events. The sale reflects the growing connection between major tournaments, global entertainment and efforts to support social causes beyond the pitch.
