Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has faced online backlash after describing Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as a “man of integrity and honour” for endorsing President Bola Tinubu‘s 2027 re-election bid, with critics questioning his “agreement is agreement” remark.
Keyamo wrote on X on Sunday: “Thank you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for the public and unequivocal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 Presidential Election. You are a man of integrity and honour. ‘Agreement is agreement.'”
The comment came after Adeleke, who belongs to the opposition Accord Party, reaffirmed his support for Tinubu during his victory speech following the August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Accord Party, thanked Tinubu for ensuring a free and fair electoral process before restating his backing for the president’s re-election.
“Mr President is a son of Osun State, and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.
Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking re-election.
However, a number of social media users have questioned Keyamo’s statement that “agreement is agreement.”
One user, @clev_david, wrote, “Don’t be irrational in your statement ‘agreement is agreement’ as in how? Knowing fully well that your government would have had him rigged out.”

In his acceptance speech, Adeleke also called for unity among the contestants, saying the election was over.
“In this race, there is no victor, no vanquished. I extend my only branch to my co-contestants. I am the governor of all Osun State people,” he said.
The governor said his administration would use the renewed mandate to expand development across the state, promising to build on his existing agenda.
“To serve you better, I will reinforce my strong points and correct my errors,” Adeleke said. “I assure you we will further accelerate development and growth under my renewed five-point agenda.”
