Fubara Commissions Rivers Road, Promises More Projects

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has commissioned the Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road and promised more projects to improve the lives of residents across the state.

Fubara spoke on Monday during the road’s commissioning, saying his administration focused on projects that would directly impact people.

“Our desire and our wish for our state is not about just embarking on projects, but doing those things that we believe will touch the life, will impact positively in the life of our people,” the governor said.

He said completing the road would make movement easier and give him more projects to point to when campaigning for his party and candidates.

“When we get there, I can boldly say, support my candidates, support my party, because I have done this, I have done that, and I’m going to do that,” Fubara said.

The governor thanked communities affected by the project for cooperating with the contractor, saying their support helped ensure the road was completed.

“Without your cooperation, we wouldn’t have been here to celebrate this road,” he said.

Fubara also acknowledged residents’ requests for additional projects, assuring them his administration would consider them based on what could be achieved.

He said his successor could continue projects that could not be completed during his tenure.

“If I cannot meet all your requests today, don’t worry. My predecessor will continue where I stopped,”

“But what is most important is anyone that I can start. I assure you today that we will do it for you,” Fubara added.

The governor also highlighted the Trans-Kanabari project as another major project his administration is venturing into, describing it as one that could not be denied.
