Madonna has topped the nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, securing 11 nods as she competes for some of the ceremony’s biggest prizes.
The 67-year-old pop icon is in the running for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, among other categories, for recent projects including Confessions II – The Film and Bring Your Love. She has previously won 19 competitive VMAs throughout her career.
Taylor Swift follows closely with nine nominations, including nods for Video of the Year and Artist of the Year.

Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter each earned seven nominations, while Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson received five apiece.
Several other international stars also picked up multiple nominations, including BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Shakira, Tate McRae, Yung Lean and GENER8ION.
The 2026 VMAs will take place on September 27 in Los Angeles, bringing together some of the biggest names in music and celebrating standout music videos and performances. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS and MTV.
Fans can vote in 13 categories until September 25. According to MTV, this year’s nominations also feature 26 artists receiving their first-ever VMA nominations.
