The Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo for a three-week rehabilitation.
The closure will begin on Friday and end on September 18, 2026.
According to Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the rehabilitation will be carried out in two phases.
The first phase will affect the outbound Isolo-to-Ejigbo section from August 28 to September 11.
During this period, motorists travelling from Isolo towards Ejigbo will be diverted onto the Isolo-bound carriageway from Pako Roundabout.
Traffic will move in both directions before reconnecting with the main carriageway at Mobil Filling Station.
Motorists coming from Ejigbo will continue moving through the shared carriageway before regaining full access at Pako Roundabout.
The second phase will affect the inbound Ejigbo-to-Isolo section from September 12 to September 18.
Motorists travelling from Ejigbo towards Isolo will be diverted onto the Ejigbo-bound carriageway from Mobil Filling Station, with traffic moving in both directions before rejoining the main carriageway at Pako Roundabout.
Motorists travelling from Isolo will continue through the shared carriageway and regain full access at Mobil Filling Station.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be deployed to manage traffic and reduce congestion during the rehabilitation.
Osiyemi also said an emergency tow vehicle would be stationed in the area throughout the project.
“An emergency tow vehicle will be stationed within the axis to provide quick recovery operations for breakdowns throughout the period of the works,” he said.
The state government urged motorists to cooperate with traffic officials and remain patient during the temporary closure.
“Motorists are implored to be patient, as the partial road closure forms part of the traffic management plan for the rehabilitation works on Oke-Afa Bridge, Isolo LGA,” the government said.
